The Newspapers Puzzle - 22/03/2013

Do you like to read newspapers?
As a matter of fact I do, but I like crosswords the most!
Anyway, here is one interesting puzzle I recently found.

A newspaper called “The Apple” should be exactly 100 pages. I saw that page 51 and page 90 are missing. Can you determine which other pages will be missing?

Now something really harder! A newspaper called “Newton” should be exactly 9 999 999 pages, but page 999 and page 878787 are missing. Can you determine the missing pages?

Well,
"The Apple" is ok - If you grab a newspaper, you'll see that every sheet represents 4 pages of the whole newspaper. So, the missing pages are 11,12,89,90 and 49,50,51,52 - 2 sheets at all.
"The Newton" should be a really strange one, because we can't divide its pages into 2. As a matter of fact there aren't such kind of newspapers, that's why I didn't try to calculate the task further. Should I?

Your answers are absolutely correct!

Yes, the second newspaper is not able to exist. Furthermore the total count of the page should be divided by 4, not only 2. So for example if the pages were 102, there would be no solution too.

Puzzle is closed.
